“Love is love,” they will say…

But Love is not merely an intense feeling; love is desiring and acting for the good of others. And love is something God commands.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. (1 Jn. 4:7-8)

God is Love; He is the source and standard of love. He showed his love to sinful humanity in giving his Son to die to save us. And God tells us that many feelings and desires we have are not “love” because they are harmful. True love does not rejoice in destruction.

“[Love] does not rejoice in evil, but rejoices with the truth” (1 Cor. 13:6)

Homosexuality Leads to Condemnation

Homosexual desires and actions are destructive because they lead to Hell. This is true of all sin; sin leads to death and condemnation before God.

Paul says in 1 Corinthians:

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals… will inherit the kingdom of God. (1 Cor. 6:9-10)

There is Forgiveness for the Sin in Christ Alone

There is good news, because Paul says in the next verse:

Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. (1 Cor. 6:11)

There is forgiveness in Christ for the sin of homosexuality, along with all other sins.

Repent of Sin and Be Saved

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 Jn. 1:9 NAU)
